Proyecto Latina Recipient of the Community News Matters Award

Dear Proyecto Latina Family,

We have some some exciting news to share with you! And we just couldn’t wait until April’s third Monday to tell you, this tid-bit is far too big to fit into the Chisme Box.   The Chicago Community Trust has announced their Local Reporting Awards through its Community News Matters initiative. Out of 108 proposals selected we are thrilled to say that Proyecto Latina is one of the award recipients of this initiative.

We’d like to thank The Chicago Community Trust and Community Media Workshop and The Chicago Reporter who are helping the Trust administer the Local Reporting Awards, part of the Trust’s Community News Matters program, which seeks to increase the flow of truthful, accurate and insightful local news and information and help the region’s cutting edge innovators develop new models for providing news and information.

In the coming weeks we will be increasing our coverage on issues impacting Latinas. We’d like you to be part of the process so if you have story ideas please send them to info@proyectolatina.org. We also encourage you to connect and support The Chicago Community Trust, Community Media Workshop and The Chicago Reporter and discover the important and innovative work they are doing in Chicago.

Cheers,
